Spam eMails or Unsolicited Commercial eMails (UCE) are a pest: Once one of your aboundant eMail addresses is infected by being part of a – often sold – mail distribution address list, eMails are flying in uninterruptedly.
Recently, a friend of mine working for a different company was crying to heaven or hell when coming back from six holidays: in his mail client application's (mail user agent (MUA) to be precise) inbox, he found 3385 Spam eMails besides the regular ones. Well, he is just member of the executive board and leads a division of that company…..
For a many usesrs, the amount of Spam eMails flying in is nearly negligble. But, the problem with Spam – as the aforementioned example illustrated – is the need to separate it from the relevant eMails when there are thousands of them.
The straighforward rule of thumb: define filter rules, integrate mail sender blacklists and simply delete those few Spam eMails that fly still through. This can be done easily for your own private eMail server that just fits your needs – most likely based on any flavor of Unix with advanced eMail server technology.
However, the real challenge remains to be solved for large companies that are bound to eMail exchanging services where out-of-the-box now sophisticated filtering mechanisms are at hand that can be flexibly enhanced according to your needs.
Consecom AG offers its wealth of experience in protecting clients from Spam eMails. The experience has been gathered from operating large-scale eMail servers during nearly a decade and being – thus – involved in the problem of fighting Spam right from the beginning.
Consecom AG provides basic consulting support when it comes to devising large-scale solutions. On request, Consecom AG takes full responsible for configuring, setting up and operating your eMail delivery services to meet your expectations and needs.
